Joining a new school. . .To some people it can be scary, to some it can be exciting. I joined NorthCreek Academy on Oct. 19, and I LOVE it! I honestly was so excited! I mean, I have been going to the same school for 6 years before this and a middle school for a month and a half. This is my first time going to a private school.
Though we are committed to providing an exceptional virtual education, we affirm that children learn best when face to face, in community with teachers and friends! To that end, we applied for a waiver (TK – 6) on September 4, and submitted our Re-opening Plan and other required documentation in hopes of being able to bring students to campus as soon as possible.
We are getting so close to the start of our Virtual Academy on Tuesday, September 1! Teachers and staff are busily preparing for YOU! In this installment you will find important information to help YOU prepare for our year together!
Today’s Installment Three will address some of the technology we will be utilizing as well as unpack our Remote Learning Option for those who wish to continue learning in our Virtual Academy once we return to campus.
Today we are addressing the Schedule Design Overview (and implications) of the program ahead, along with some of the initial Health and Safety Protocols for a safer return to campus.
I’m writing today to confirm that, in light of the Governor’s order on 7/17 and current trending, the start of the school year will be a virtual one. I acknowledge news of a virtual start brings about mixed emotions. For those anticipating a return to campus, it’s disappointing. For those concerned about a return to campus, perhaps relief? But we have good news!
The most important outcome of the many lessons from this season is that, during this time, we have been able to re-embrace our mission and purpose! The challenges of this time have served to confirm that we have built our school on the solid foundation of twenty-plus years of a Christ-centered, classical education! We believe that in this coming school year, we can – and will – continue to fulfill our mission of cultivating academic excellence, imparting biblical truth, and proclaiming Jesus Christ to all.
For our younger children in the 3s and Pre-K programs, the changes would significantly and detrimentally alter the programs we love and believe in. So with great heartache, we have determined that we will not be able to offer the 3s and Pre-K programs next school year.
